The Advanced Driving Systems team is proud to tell you more about one of our vendors, Sure Grip. Sure Grip’s controls operate with very little hand strength and, unlike any other hand control on today’s market, the unique vertical handle allows the operator virtual two-handed contact with the steering wheel—something no other product offers. Sure Grip creates many variations of hand controls to serve people with the highest level of disability. Here are the four basic types:
- Featherlite: Sure Grip FeatherLite controls eliminate the mechanical linkage between the driving aid and vehicle’s gas pedal which increases the driver’s leg and lap room and decreases the need for dash modifications.
- Traditional: Sure Grip Traditional controls come in a variety of models including push/rock, push/right angle, left foot accelerator, push/pull, and push/twist.
- Switch: Switch controls go beyond the gas and brake pedals. These controls help make every function you need behind the wheel easily accessible: audio and video controls, blinkers, horn, and windshield wiper control.
- Recreation: Sure Grip’s line of recreational hand controls are made to equip your side by side off-road vehicles.
