Fall Festivals
Other than pumpkin spice lattes, October heralds the beginning of fall festival season in Tallahassee and Gainesville. The list of craft shows, events, and farm days is extensive, so we did the work for you. Here are the highlights, all of which are wheelchair accessible and packed with spicy fall fun!
Blocktoberfest at Blackadder Brewing
October 25, 2024 from 4 PM – 10 PM
Location: Blackadder Brewing Company
618 NW 60th St Ste A, Gainesville, FL
Celebrate Oktoberfest only as Blackadder can do it…with Blocktober Lager. The brewery is turning into a traditional German bier hall complete with live music, German food and more.
Tallahassee Greek Food Festival
October 25 & 26, 2024, 10 AM – 10 PM
Location: Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church
1645 Phillips Road, Tallahassee, FL
This festival is a Tallahassee tradition that includes two days of homemade Greek food and pastries, dancing, and shopping. Admission is free, but be sure to bring plenty of funds for the baklava.
Monarch Butterfly Festival
October 26, 2024, 10 AM – 2 PM
Location: St. Marks Wildlife Refuge Visitor’s Center

Every year untold amounts of monarch butterflies pass through the Florida panhandle and St. Marks on their migration to central and southern Mexico. This free event offers attendees an up-close (and let’s face it, magical) view of the majestic monarch.
Fourth Annual International Car Show
October 26, 2024, 9 AM – 12 PM
Location: Butler Town Center
3597 SW 32nd Ct, Gainesville, FL
This event is free for spectators and features over 120 cars ranging from classic to modern along with music, vendors and more. 100% of the proceeds from the International Car Show will benefit The Rotary Club of Gainesville.
Pumpkin Patch Party
Through October 31, 2024, or until the pumpkins run out
Location: Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church
304 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL
With patch events and pumpkin restocks throughout the month, there is plenty to see and do. Saturdays in the patch include kids’ activities like a bounce house, balloon sculptures, a scavenger hunt, face painting, yard games, and photo ops (all at no charge, donations are gladly accepted). Concessions are available for purchase along with a wide variety of pumpkins!
UF Family Fishing Day
November 9, 2024, 8 AM – 12 PM
Location: UF/IFAS fishing ponds
7922 NW 71st St., Gainesville, FL
Bring the whole family to experience the joy of catch-and-release freshwater fishing. Bring your own equipment or borrow ours. A railed fishing deck, with two handicapped accessible ramps, ensures that everyone can enjoy the day.
Tallahassee’s Bicentennial Celebration
November 10, 2024, 1 PM – Evening
Location: Cascades Park
1001 South Gadsden, Tallahassee, FL
Be a part of Tallahassee’s history. Explore interactive exhibits that bring Tallahassee’s past to life. Local museums will highlight different eras featuring kid-friendly activities and displays.
Enjoy a bite to eat from local food trucks and artisans throughout the day and cool down with an ice cream social in the afternoon.
